So after several months of work i have complete a small body of work entitled
A Slow Death by Capitalism. I have decided to release this work in a digital book form. I also decided to release the work under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) License. Film Vs. Digital

So here's another one of those Film versus Digital comparison things. What makes this one interesting is the fact that it was done by PBS. Check it out for some weird, but intriguing imagery.

Artem Zhitenev

Artem Zhitenev as I'm sure you can tell by his name is a Russian Street photographer. Street photography has always been my favorite form of photography. It's the rawness of the images that always draws me to him,, and his image really have that.

Thomas Ruff

Thomas Ruff is a German born, New York based photographer. He trained under Bernd Becher, and therefore he inherited the some of his style. His portrait work is fascinating to look at.

He also did a set of images about Internet porn. the images are fascinating and thought provoking. But needless to say are NSFW.

The same, but not at all Part 3

So here's another photographer that took a stand against fast food. His work is intriguing, but he should be allowed to code web sites....

The same, but not at all Part two

So this is another photographer who took a a stance against processed food. This time it's more of fast food, but they are topics that are closely intertwined.

Somehow i missed him....

Walker Evans... I found him while looking through various articles. How could i have never heard of him before! I know of most of his fellow FSA photographers, but i never stumbled across him before.

Article that i found him in:

The same, but not at all.

I found the following photographer a few weeks back. It's another photographer who like myself is trying to make a statement about heavily processed food. It's funny how radically different his approach was when looked at in comparison with my own images.

Andrzej Maciejewski

This is a photographer that i found to be of Particular relevance to my current project. Andrzej Maciejewski is a Canadian Photographer that had his Garden of Eden series of images take off quite well. His Garden of Eden series of images make a statement about where the things we eat come from. I'm going to leave it at that.

Link to his Website gallery.

Emily Peacock

Emily Peacock is a Houston TX based Photographer. Now i found her while looking for photographs of food that are visually similar to my own work. While they are visually similar to my images, they don't try to take a stance and promote a concept as much as mine. But they are still of interest due to the quality of the  work.

Yosuke Yamahata

This is a Photographer i stumbled across just a short bit ago. He's famous for  documenting the aftermath of Nagasaki, Japan. His work is the only real documentation of Nagasaki at that point in time. But that's enough talk. Let's let his images speak. It's unfortunate, but there's a severe lack of high quality images available in the inter webs.

Osamu Kanemura

Osamu Kanemura is a Japanese born and based street photographer. He was born in 1964. He's has gained some renown in Japan, but he's still a relatively unknown on the international art scene. Now he's a street photographer like i mentioned before. But he take it more literal then the some of his peers. In his images the street themselves take control of the frame, and the human form becomes secondary to the chaotic nature of the streets.  When viewing the following images, take not of how chaotic and texture packed these images are.

A good Article with a Timeline: http://www.shashasha.co/en/artist/osamu-kanemura/

This is one of his better know images, "Todays Tokyo" circa 1994

Mark Menjivar: We are what we Eat.

Mark Menjivar is a San Antonio, TX based photographer. He's most well known for his series "We are what we eat". This series is a portrait series, but using the contents of an individuals refrigerator as a replacement for a humans face. This is one of the Photographers that i found while researching for my book proposal. His work and my work both share the same core concepts (to a certain extent).

Desktop Crashed

Well Folks, My desktop crashed. I'm off to install Gentoo. It should take 3-6 hours. Not sure why i posted this here.

Eugène Atget

Eugène Atget is a photographer that i just learned about a short while ago. Eugène was a French photographer that was an early pioneer in street and documentary photography. While he wasn't really known during his lifetime outside of his architectural work, (mostly due to his personality) after his death his work was brought to light and he is now considered one of the early masters of photography.
